Can one count the water
As one counts the stars?
Does a photon stream from Sun
Past the Earth to Mars?

At the very bottom,
Does a single string
Bend the cloth of time and space
To be another thing?

Is it all discretion,
Or is it all one song?
Can the violinist make
One note both short and long?

Count the sound of Heaven,
As it falls on Earth
