A Christian Name

If you take a new name,
Let it be Good,
And do your duty
To live up to such a name.

Offer your voice
In humility.
Offer your life
In service.

Let the one who exalts exalt,
And let the one who brings low bring low.
What will be will be,
And that which seems shall end.

Then the world will know goodness,
As it was ordained to be,
And you will be as you are.
