Do not believe a word.
Language has only one function,
Which is to hide the truth beneath sound and symbol.
But if I touch your face,
If I kiss your cheek,
You may judge my intentions.
Do not believe,
Even for one second,
That I will jump from this page to save you.
If I hold you so that you do not fall,
If I rub lotion on your feet,
If I beat back Wolves that encircle you,
You may believe more
Than what you read in this poem,
That is written to turn your face to me.
This is a lie that I do not want to tell you.
