There's a hell of a story
A man in his thirties wrote
About the comfort of light,
And a little more rum,
To him who accepts nothing
Into his heart,
And receives in double portion
The brilliant light of glory
Bestowed upon him
By the Thief of Polyphemus,
Who sailed 20 years
Visiting the beds of goddesses,
Whose honor was upheld
By chaste Penelope.
"Look at how honorable I am
As I string my bow!"
"Look at how strong this old man is
As he catches this damned fish!"
Find a cafe,
Hard man.
No marlin will take the bait
As triumphantly as you imagine,
Nor lion die without ugly convulsions,
Bleeding on the plains of Kenya.
Nothing easily penetrated
The hunter's thick hide.
Shoot for the head.
Pull both triggers.
Open up the place.
Let in some light.
