Richard Brautigan Is Dead

Richard Brautigan is dead, but I
Am not, but I will be before too long.
'Cuz all of us will die when life is done--
For us, at least, not "Life" in general.

I read some of his stories in a class
I took when I was nineteen years of age.
Now, nineteen years have passed, and here I sit,
Writing this poem on the Internet.

See, here's the lesson that you're supposed to learn
Here at the versa in this sonnet form:
The man is dead, but still we know he lived

Because he wrote a story. Goes like this:
I feel. I see. I love. I want. I need.
I had. I lost. I lived. I loved. I died.
