Adam's Stain

I think I'll bear a mark upon my back
That anyone may see and recognize
Before the rational mind (that I do lack)
Will testify my thoughts before his eyes,
To give the passerby admonishment
And let him know that those who don't are torn,
Sliced and diced and quartered, bled and spent
By this fierce tongue who in my face is borne,
Then, I could, too, in gladness pass my days
Without fear of the strife that comes before
My wicked feet, but forward dance upon
The soft sands my rough cut feet do prance on
When music doth arise the soul once more,
And sing songs, I, My Lord in joyous praise!
