-- 30 --

For thirty years you walked through dark alone,
In shadows of the dreams that haunt your nights,
Without a soul to walk you safely home,
Nor any loving arms to hold you tight.
For thirty-seven years I wandered, too,
Uncertain of the path that I should take,
Till in the darkness I bumped into you,
And from our fitful dream did both awake.
You took me by the hand and said, "This way!
The Lord has promised me that He will come
To save me from the maze I've traveled on."
To see your faith in Him, my fear allayed,
That in the black of night we aren't alone:
The Hand of Providence will guide us home.
