I'd like to see the moon up close myself.
That men have walked across her face is strange
To me. Imprints of feet and flying flags
Still wave in her still airs, and if you had
A spaceship you could go there for yourself
And feel that it is warmer than you thought
Within the rich, dark black of space where your
Body's weight disappears into thin air.
It may be I will travel there myself
To tear down all the flags that stilly wave
O'er emptiness and place my foot in dust,
To feel myself as Neil Armstrong did feel
When he opened the hatch of The Eagle
And stepped giantly on the Face of God.
